Spring has sprung

Hello fellow crafters! Spring has finally arrive, at least it shows on my planter, small flowers, bugs and it's getting hotter everyday.

At Sugar Nellie Sugar Bowl  challenge 114 is Easter or Springtime. I chose Spring for my card. Had a lovely stamp unused, Fifi goes walkies(yep, I know, how have I resist the temptation? lol). And though black is an unusual color for this time of the year, well, I decided to make a statement. That little fairy is so glamorous that I felt it was the perfect background for her.

 Materials used:

  • Fifi goes Walkies, Sugar Nellie Stamps.
  • Black  matte cardboard for the card.
  • White Opalina cardboard to stamp the image.
  • Gingham and dotted cardboards for the flowers and leaves.
  • Radiant Concentrated watercolor.
  • Brushes.
  • White gel pen.
  • Sakura black marker 005.
  • Faber-castell watercolor crayons(skin).
  • Generic glittery gel pens.
  •  Rangers ink pad, color: black.
  • White glue.
  • Scotch double sided mounting tape.
  • Cantek disco glitter gel.
  • Cantek cold paint, gold.
  • Cantek glass effect paint.
  • Royal Coat, glossy accents.
  • Craft punchers: Barrilito big  flower, generic dot, generic small flower, generic big and small hearts, Fiskars emboss and punch (2 in 1 corner).

Twin bags

Hi!!! My nieces will be two next May 17th. I wanted to make some pretty cards, like the ones I sent past year, but since they're not allowed to play with those I decided a different approach. I'm sending birthday bags instead.

To make them, stamped "Delia", Sugar Nellie stamp on the bags.Used some Fiskars flowers and an alphabet to stamp their names.

Then using fabric markers and cold paint, did all the coloring. The cold paint is awesome because I can do some shadowing and lighting.

Afterwards used some fabric glue, mixed with opalescent glitter to give some sparkly details. After all what's a fairy without glitter...

Of course, chose some lining to match the fairies colors.

I wanted to add a ribbon to the handles, but wasn't sure, and didn't know wether to use the green one or the purple one on little E's bag. I asked, my brother said yes and comadre Elisa said no. It's a tie. Will you help me choose? Thanks!

Tomorrow I'll post all the other patchwork bags from the commision.

Have a crafty week ;)
